Forest Hill is an affluent neighbourhood in Toronto. Forest Hill is known to be a prestigious neighbourhood due to its large mansion style homes, as well as its amazing public and private schools, and close proximity to the downtown core. Due to the prestigious schools and large homes in Forest Hill  on large lots this neighbourhood usually attracts wealthy families that work in the city. Forest Hill along with Lawrence Park homes, Rosedale homes and Bridle Path homes are considered to be Toronto`s most affluent neighbourhoods.

The majority of Forest Hill homes for sale were built in the 1940`s and 1950`s.Most areas in Forest Hill have streets with few homes, almost all homes are isolated from their neighbour to give each house more privacy. The homes sit on large lots and have large driveways to accommodate many cars. Many but not all Forest Hill homes are gated, giving the neighbourhood that exclusive feel.  While Forest Hill has many homes, schools and businesses, no structures are alike. Most homes look very different from one another; they do share some similarities but for the most part are individually unique.  The Upper Village mainly has homes of Tudor and Georgian styles, but the architecture resembles more of the French Colonial and English Country Manors. 

Forest Hill is not only known for its multi-million dollar mansions, it is also known for the neighbourhood’s unique look. Most of the area does not have sidewalks, streets in the residential area are a lot wider than average, and the landscaping around the neighbourhood is absolutely beautiful with most properties having many different types of plants and trees. The landscaping is seen as a status symbol, people with extravagantly manicured lawns and gardens are known to be wealthier.

The Lower Village in Forest Hill is a popular area for shopping it has a variety of specialty shops which gives it that village feel. The Upper Village is full of restaurants along Eglinton Avenue West; you can also find some high end specialty boutiques and many shops for interior designing.
