THE JUNCTION

The Junction has a small town feel, which makes it a desirable city neighbourhood. The Junction attracts an eclectic mix of people including families with young children, artists, young professionals and students.

Families find this an attractive neighbourhood due to the schools in the area including: Annette Street Public School, High Park Alternative School and Indian Road Crescent Junior Public School. The Runnymede Park which is located in The Junction also appeals to families, especially those with young children. Runnymede Park features a wading pool, a soccer field, a baseball diamond, a few tennis courts and an ice rink. Dundas Street West is the main shopping district in The Junction it offers many shops as well as specialty stores, cafes, coffee shops like Starbucks and delicious raw food restaurants, organic grocery stores and little eateries.

The Junction has some annual festivals that bring the community together. In June there is the Junction Summer Solstice Festival which is held on the longest day of the year. This summer festival features local art, music and a lot of food. It also has a handful of rides and a movie screening. Another festival is the Junction Music Festival held in September, an independent music festival that is catered for all ages.
